Welcome To Our Community

The Alameda Special Education Family Support Group (ASPEDFamilies) was created by parents and supported by parents, students, educators, and community members.  The ASPEDFamilies strives to support our families, build the ASPEDFamilies community, and promote communication within the Alameda community.

Parents, students, educators, and community members are welcome to participate in group meetings.
ASPEDFamilies holds quarterly meetings during the Alameda Unified School District school year.  Our meetings offer an opportunity for you to share resources, ask questions, and build community.

ASPEDFamilies Meetings are organized with the first hour as a program presentation; the second hour of the meeting is held for confidential parent sharing.

ASPEDFamilies is a committee of the Alameda PTA Council.  The Alameda PTA Council is a 5012(c)3, tax-exempt organization.

ABLE Act Stakeholder Meeting

 Wednesday, November 16, 2016

Franklin Elementary, Alameda

6:30pm – 7:15pm ASPEDFamilies Support Meeting

7:15pm – 8:15pm ABLE Act Stakeholder Meeting

Free Childcare

The ABLE Act allows people with disabilities who acquired their disability before the age of 26 to save up to $100K while on benefits.

This means that people who receive SSI or other types of Social Security benefits will soon be able to save more than the current $2,000 limit when they open an ABLE account.

Before California’s ABLE accounts become available, the CalABLE Act Board needs to hear from you!

Let’s shape what our California ABLE accounts look like together.

Come participate in this ABLE Act Stakeholders Meeting

to learn more and share your input.
